Calvin Harris “How Deep Is Your Love”
Scottish-born singer, songwriter, record producer and DJ/remixer Calvin Harris released his newest single, “How Deep Is Your Love”, this summer and Taylor Swifts’ friends and neighbors (New York City in other words) want to know if and how the song is connected to their relationship. This new song is Harris’s first single since being connected to Swift. With the relationship so widely reported on, interest in New York has been high. Social media has been active with comments, opinions and speculation!
Calvin Harris isn’t new to the music world. He released his first album “I Invented Disco” in 2007, followed by “Ready for the Weekend” in 2009, which included his first number one single in the UK “I’m Not Alone”. He became internationally recognized with his third album “18 Months” in 2012 (the first album in UK history to have all eight singles reach the top-10 in the UK) topping the UK charts and reaching number 19 on the Billboard 200 in the US. The second single released from “Motion” Calvin Harris’s fourth album, was “Summer”, one of the most streamed tracks of 2014 and his highest charting solo single on U.S. Billboard Top 100, reaching as high as number seven.
Forbes has identified Calvin Harris as the highest paid DJ of the year for the past three years. “Summer” was nominated for a Grammy and in 2012 he won the MTV Video Music Award for Best Electronic Video for “Feel So Close” and Video of the Year alongside Rihanna for “We Found Love”. His collaboration with pop singer Kylie Minogue, produced the UK top-10 hit “In My Arms”, and “Dance wiv Me” which he produced with rapper Dizzee Rascal reached number one in the UK and has been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry. He has worked with such artists as Ne-Yo, Mary J. Blige and Gwen Stefani. It’s also worth mentioning he definitely holds his own as the new face of Giorgio Armani for its men’s underwear line; lucky Taylor.
This new song is the next entry into the Calvin Harris success story. “How Deep Is Your Love” reached the number two spot in the UK, and the number one on the ARIA charts. Harris recently dedicated the music video for “How Deep Is Your Love”, and it’s been said to contain references to Swift and his feelings for her. Listen for it online at UVE Radio!
